30 Minuten Philly Soul im Mix von DJ Grizz. Grizz, den wir hier ja immer wieder vertreten haben, packt oft Rare Grooves in kurze Mixtapes, diesmal klassischen Soul, der den Weg zum HipHop nie direkt über die Band aber mit Samples schaffte. Der Londoner Soul-Lover hat also ein Mix für uns Soul-Lover gemacht. Nice one.Time for a mix from one of my favourite groups of the 70's on one of my favourite labels of the 70's.. its the The O'Jays on Philadelphia International Records! Formed in the late 50's they had some moderate success throughout the 60's (Northern Soul aficionados will attest to that!) but it wasn't until Gamble and Huff signed them to Philly in the 70's that they made it big... here's some of their best!
We start with the unmistakeable bass line of For The Love Of Money, we've the tribute to false friends everywhere in Backstabbers, the massive hit Love Train, there's the original Now That We've Found Love and we end on the sublime Darlin Darlin Baby... plus more O'Jays gold!
