Moderne Ölgemälde können halt was.
How old are you and how long have you been painting?
I'm 31 years old and have been painting for almost twenty years (and have been making art in some form for as long as I can remember).
Which idols do you have?
My work is influenced by work in many art forms (i.e. film, music, internet culture, etc.) but some of my idols in the field of painting include Rogier van der Weyden, Francis Bacon, Willem de Kooning, and Neo Rauch (a contemporary German artist actually).
What are your next plans?
I'm living and working in Brooklyn, NYC and I hope to continue living and making my work here for as long as I can (I love this city)
I'm currently working on a piece depicting giant river-otters roaming through an urban landscape. It's about the complicated and inevitable alienation and redefinition of the relationship between man and the natural world, I think it's coming along pretty well.
Do you know Germany ?
I've haven't been to Germany yet but I hope that I'm able to visit sometime soon.
