SIMS pays tribute to SHAOLIN SOUL
Shaolin Soul ist eine vierteilige Kompilation von Musiksamples aus dem Wu-Tang Clan und ihren verschiedenen Soloalben. Die Samples wurden größtenteils für von RZA komponierte Tracks erstellt und decken somit weitgehend die frühen Jahre ihrer Karriere ab.
Wer die Originale in der Plattensammlung hat, kann sich glücklich schätzen. Wer nicht, der bekommt nun einen Sample-Lehrgang verpasst. Also, alles gut.
Der französische Turntablekünstler und Remixer Sims (NOw Future) hat sich vor einer Weile an den Compilations abgearbeitet und es war und ist ein sehr schönes Werk – so, wie alle seine Arbeiten.
Man kann sagen, es ist fröhliches Sample-raten und daher ein Stück Bildung und Musikgeschichte. Aber bei der Wärme gibt es jetzt nicht mehr Worte, sondern Musik. Los gehts.
