Daddy - You Are Mine

James Franco ist schon ein Tausendsassa. Der Schauspieler, Drehbuchautor, Kurzgeschichtenverfasser... Hollywooddarling.... hat zusammen mit Tim O'Keefe eine Band namens "Daddy". Angelehnt an Indie Rock Werke und den New Wave Sound der 80er, befeuern die Beiden gerade Soundcloud mit einem neuen Song mit dem Titel "You Are Mine" und haben die Bassline vom Original Ex-Smith Mitglied Andy Rourke einspielen lassen. 

The motivation behind Daddy, the newly formed band comprised of artists James Franco and Timothy O’Keefe, is to push beyond the sonic space of music into the surrounding ecology. Daddy investigates the territories of film/video, installation, and performance while simultaneously exploring the connections that form between them.

Hin und wieder mag ich so ne Mukke wie New Order, The Smith und Pet Shop Boys... ok, ich weiss es ist gewagt diese Bands in einen Topf zu werfe - doch sie haben etwas gemeinsam... die latent melancholische Stimmung in teilen ihrer Songs. Zurück zu "Daddy". Der neue Song "You Are Mine" spiegelt genau diesen Potpourri-Mix ans Soundelementen für mich wieder und ist somit der "Song of the Day". Im Frühjahr 2016 soll dann die LP "Let Me Get What I Want" und ein dazugehöriger Film erscheinen. Ich bin mal gespannt.
