Wieder neuer "alter" Stuff vom Soul-Brother #1, Pete Rock.

Nas, welcher 1994 mit seinem Album Release Illmatic HipHop-Geschichte schrieb, wurde nun zum Erscheinen des Re-Release des Klassikers unter dem Namen Illmatic XX, von Pete Rock mit einem Mixtape beehrt. Dies auch aus gutem Grund, so ist u.a. 2014 also zwanzig Jahre später nicht nur Zeit eines Re-Release Vinyls, sondern auch die Geburtsstunde des Films "Time Is Illmatic", wo die Geschichte von Nas von One9 und Erik Parker verfilmt wurde. 

Erik Parker, One 9 & Nas film documentary, Time Is Illmatic, takes you into the heart of Nas’ creative process for his groundbreaking and undisputed classic debut (Illmatic) and it is a thrilling account of his evolution from a young street poet to a visionary emcee. Pete Rock pays homage with his brand new Time Is Illmatic mixtape.

Dabei kommen in der Bioptik auch das Produzententeam des legendären Albums zu Wort, Large Professor, Q-Tip, DJ Premier, L.E.S und halt Pete Rock. Ein Garant für ein schönes Mixtape würde ich behaupten.
